Software ID, behind the studio the death And the Immortal death, he teased the next game he’s currently working on. At this point, it’s been over two years since id Software and Bethesda launched Immortal death. And while the studio has continued to support this game after launch in the form of two major DLC expansions, it remains to be seen what its next full-fledged project will be. Now, we got an initial tease from one of the people in charge of the developer.
In conjunction with QuakeCon 2022, ID Director Marty Stratton gave a hint about what the studio was up to. Although no specifics were provided, Stratton explained that those at id Software are working on a new game at the moment. No further information has been given as to when this game will be revealed, but Stratton has made it look like the project is still in its early stages. For this reason, we may not learn more about this mysterious title in an official capacity for a little longer.

In all likelihood, your next Software id project will likely not be related to the DOOM franchise. Although the studio has become synonymous with DOOM in recent years, ancient gods DLC for Immortal death I basically make it clear that this will be the final chapter of the franchise’s content for the foreseeable future. Alternatively, some rumors have suggested that ID may now be looking to return to Quake, another iconic shooting series the studio worked on in its early years.
What will make the next id Software game different from previous titles is that it will be the first project released since Microsoft acquired the studio. As such, whatever this game is will definitely become exclusive to the Xbox Series X and PC platforms and will most likely be announced at an Xbox event. With that in mind, we’ll be watching in the coming weeks and months if any new inconveniences or revelations arise.
